Meat/Produce Team Associate

A Walmart Meat and Produce Associate keeps the fresh areas fully stocked, rotates products for quality control, and maintains food safety standards. They move incoming freight to the sales floor, manage inventory levels, discard expired items to eliminate waste, and assist customers with questions.

Responsibilities

• Stocking & Restocking: Move boxes from the backroom, fill displays, and ensure meat and produce shelves are full throughout the day.

• Quality & Date Control: Check expiration dates, rotate old stock using FIFO (First In, First Out), and pull spoiled or damaged items to minimize shrink.

• Sanitation & Safety: Clean sales floor displays, prep areas, and storage coolers while following strict health and food safety guidelines. 

• Customer Service: Greet shoppers, answer questions, and help locate specific cuts of meat or types of produce.

• Cross-Training: Assist across related fresh or consumable areas (such as dairy or frozen foods) depending on daily store demands. 

Job Requirements

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and work in cold environments like walk-in coolers/freezers.

• Compliance: Complete all required safety and food-handling training modules.

• Flexibility: Availability to work early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on scheduling needs.
