DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TRABAJO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain high quality of patient care by assuming responsibility for medical care of the patient and carrying out established policies and procedures.

  2. Respond to requests for emergency medical care, examine patients and report on patient condition to an emergency room nurse or physician via two-way radio or telephone.

  3. Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator and EKS monitor, telemetry equipment, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, injections, CPR and other procedures and medications as required.

  4. Maintain patient confidentiality.

  5. Prepare and submit EMS pre-hospital forms according to Gemsis Elite standards, patient records, and other forms as required.

  6. All aspects of patient movement including, but not limited to, lifting form the ground, lifting a patient while on the cot, lifting a patient in a stair chair, carrying a patient down steps in a stair chair or cot, moving patients from one surface to another.

  7. Administer wound care and apply traction and/or splinting.

  8. Read maps and route ambulance unit.

  9. Transport patients to medical facilities.

  10. Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.

  11. Assure that emergency vehicle is completely inventoried, stocked and in good running order throughout the work shift.

  12. Complete daily report. Report on mechanical problems with the Maintenance Department and/or Supervisor.

  13. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle an area station.

  14. Comply with continuing education requirements and maintain all relevant certifications.

  15. Adheres to established pre-hospital care protocols.

  16. Function as a public relations representative when dealing with facilities, agencies, etc.

  17. Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.

  18. Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills.

  19. Train new staff members.

  20. Other duties that are deemed necessary by the CEO.


Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required.

  2. Minimum age of 18.

  3. Current Georgia Paramedic certification

  4. Valid Driver’s License

  5. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.

  6. Must pass a written & oral evaluation, psychomotor evaluation, and complete a field training evaluation period as part of the credential establishing process during the first 90 days of employment.

  7. Experience preferred.
