General Duties:

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and processing applications for admission and readmission of students to a technical college. Serves as the initial contact person for the admission office.  Serves as a liaison between the program/ administrative operation and clients (internal and external). Assists prospective students with the admission and readmission process; Assists with the processing of new and returning student applications and related information; Schedules students for appropriate testing. Oversee Admissions workflow to ensure a streamlined and efficient process to admit students; Work effectively with High School Counselors and administration, parents, and students to effectively communicate SGTC admissions procedures, financial aid information, testing procedures, etc.  Plans and implements student recruitment activities and strategies for SGTC.  Recruits and counsels potential high school students interested in the Dual Enrollment Programs and SGTC.  Will assist with input of high school data into Banner.  Act as main point of contact for SGTC regarding testing and retesting procedures for placement in the Dual Enrollment programs for high school students and answer any questions about options and opportunities; Supervise student workers; Ensure college and high school transcripts and verify in-state residency; Attend college meetings and serves on college committees as needed; Advises and conducts tours for prospective students; Perform all other duties as assigned.  Frequent travel is REQUIRED

 

 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a closely related field and Two (2) years of experience in an educational environment. Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-to-year basis

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of college admissions requirements; Knowledge of admissions testing; Knowledge of student information systems; Knowledge of community and service delivery areas; Organizational skills; Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public; Decision making and problem-solving skills; Oral and written communication skills; Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs; Skill and ability to perform complex and varied duties in an efficient and confidential manner

Compensation:

Full-time position. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
