DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TRABAJO
The City Clerk serves as the official record keeper for the municipality and provides administrative support to the Mayor, City Council, and city departments. This position ensures transparency, compliance with state and local laws, and the efficient operations of city government functions.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and preserve all city records, ordinances, minutes, and legal documents
Prepare agendas
Ensure compliance with Georgia Open Records Act and Georgia Open Meetings Act
Serve as the custodian of public records and respond to requests in a timely mannor
Maintain records of elected appointed officals
Coordinate municipal elections in cooperation with loacl election authorities
Maintain the city code of ordinances and ensure proper codification
Manage public notices, legal advertisements, and required postings
Issue licenses, permits, and other official documents as required
Maintain custody of the city seal and authenticate official documents
Assist with budget preperation and recordkeeping
understanding of general ledger
Provide administrative support to the Mayor and City Council
Serve as a liaison between the public and city officials
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor degree preferred
Experience in municipal government, clerical administration, or records management preferred
Knowledge of local government operations
Familiarity with applicable state laws
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in office software
Ability to handle confidential information
Salary based on experience
