The Tattnall County Road Department is currently seeking a dedicate hardworking individual for the position of laborer.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Keeps right-of-way free of trash.
Cleans out driveway culverts using a shovel.
Flags for traffic control during road maintenance.
Makes and replaces signs for roads.
Process cleared wood with a wood chipper.
Helps clear right-of-way on road projects.
Discards large dead animals from road or right-of-way.
Trims around signs, guardrails, etc. using a weed-eater
Assists in removing fallen trees from roadways using a power saw.
Repairs road shoulders at mailboxes
Patches potholes with cold patch or asphalt
Performs other related duties as asigned.
Skills and Qualification:
Throughout knowledge of proper road constuction and maintenance procedures pertaining to duties of position
Knowledge of the location of County Roads
Skill in operating such equipment as a strong trimmer, power saw, and various other hand and power tools.
Ability to work unsupervised after recieving the daily work instructions.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work outdoors.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/intership or having had a similar position for one or two years.
Procession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver;s licens issued by the state of Georgia for the type of vehicle and /or equipment operated
