Job Summary:

The Tattnal County Road Department is currently seeking a dedicated hardworking individual to join our team. In this position, you will be working directly under the Road Superintendent to complete various project in the day-to-day operations. Ou ideal candidate should have the ability to pay attention to details, excellent communication, and a focus on increasing effiiency and accountability. It is equally important that they be willing and able to learnnew skills and knowledge within the Road Department.


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Schedules work Crew and assign dutes

  • Respond to comlaints from the general public.

  • Respond to complaints from the General Public

  • Locate property lines and set stakes

  • Conducts onsite inspections of work in progress.

  • Installs Culverts, digs and cleand ditches, and clears right away.

  • Assists with the right of way acquisitions.

  • Supervises road maintenance crews and assists in the performance of duties neccessary to maintain and repair County roads and ditches

  • Processes paperwork verifies easemnets, requests permissions to enter private propety, etc.

  • Trains personnel in safety and operating procedures.


Skills and Qualification:

  • Must have a Class A CDL GA License

  • Throughout knowledge of proper road constuction and maintenance procedures.

  • Knowlege of local building codes and ordiance and revelant state and federal laws.

  • Skills in achieving proper grade and compaction.

  • Skills in reading plats and maps.

  • Skillsin operating tools and equipment used in ditch and pipe laying work, such as a tractor, motor grader, front end loader, and water truck.

  • 7-10 years of experience in road maintenance and repair

  • Prferable supervisory experince

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    Valid State vehicle License required

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Dilligence, priotitize skill, and time management
