Job Summary: The Tattnall County Road Department is currently seeking a dedicated hardworking individual to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for directing the diagnosing and repair of a variety of county vehicles and equipment. To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit. Our ideal candidate should have the ability to pay attention to details, excellent communication, and a focus on increasing efficiency and accountability. It is equally important that they be willing and able to learn new skills and knowledge within the Road Department. Job Responsibilities and Duties: • Performs and supervises corrective maintenance procedures, including hydraulics, electrical and engine repair. • Performs and supervises vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures such as tune-ups, oil and filter changes and heating/air conditioning repairs. • Performs and supervises small engine diagnostics and repairs, welding and fabricating of parts as needed. • Responds to service calls in the field and performs other related duties as assigned. Skills and Qualification: • Thorough knowledge of the characteristics and maintenance needs of a wide variety automotive and heavy equipment, principles of operation of gasoline/diesel engines, hazards/safety precautions of automotive shop operations, small engine repair. • Knowledge of electrical and air conditioning repair and procedures. • Skills in fabricating and welding. • Skills in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in repairing vehicles and small engines. • Four (4) years of experience in maintenance and repair of automotive and heavy equipment. • Preferable supervisory experience • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Valid state vehicle license required • Strong analytical skills • Diligence, prioritization skill, and time management Benefits: • Health Insurance (employee policy paid 100% by the County) • Retirement Plan • 13 Paid Holidays • 10 Hours Sick & 10 Hours Annual Leave (per month) Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
