Job Summary
Clean and sanitize rooms and furnishings in assigned areas, following established policies and procedures, to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the departments assigned.
Duties And Responsibilities
Use specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents. Follow specific procedures, work patterns and routines. Horizontal surfaces: Remove dust, dirt, greasy film, wash if necessary and sanitize daily in patient care areas. Operating Rooms: In addition to above, perform terminal cleaning procedures .and prepare room for new occupant, or concurrent cleaning procedures for rooms with long-term patients. Follow isolation procedures in isolation rooms, Bathrooms: Clean and disinfect daily all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, walls as far as can be reached. Clean high areas, Replenish bathroom supplies.
Floors: Dust mot/wet mot, sanitize/disinfect/buff.
Walls, windows, doors, ceilings, spot clean surfaces.
Fixtures, furnishing, furniture: Dust, damp wipe, spot clean, wash, sanitize/disinfect change drapes/cubicle curtains. Clean/sanitize shelves, ledges, vents, woodwork, window blinds, frames. Empty, clean, reline waste baskets. Straighten and rearrange furniture as needed.
Waste and soiled linen: Remove waste and soiled linen from work area in accordance with infection control guidelines. Place in area in specified accordance containers.
Service Cart: Assemble needed materials and supplies, load service cart and transport to work area A.M. and return P.M.
Entrances and exits: Spot clean walls daily and walls as scheduled. Scrub floors and sanitize.
Utility Rooms/Closets: Clean Floors , ceilings, furnishings, and fixtures
Dietary Department: Clean Sink, Replenish Towels, sign and date slip above the sink. Clean bathrooms, replenish supplies.
Education
Grade school education or equivalent.
Ability: to read and understand hazardous warning labels
