Cable Technician/Facility Maintenance

Cable Technician/Facility Maintenance Pineland is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a member of the Outside Plant Team. The Individual selected to join this team will have a primary role of installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cable, and maintaining the Central Office cable system. S/he will provide hands on assistance and troubleshoot all equipment failures and service issues, assist with locate requests, and conduct routine preventative maintenance to buildings and facilities, including custodial care of plant and offices. The individual will be in contact with customers on a day to day basis. Qualifications Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of technical training. One year experience in telephone plant operations also required. Must have a valid DOT health card. Demonstrates ability to learn new technology with accuracy and at a fast pace. Knowledge of voice and broadband technologies preferred. Must be proficient in the use of hand tools, including various punch tools, test equipment, ribbon and/or single splicer’s and various power tools. Must have proven ability to complete projects/assignments in a timely manner without constant supervision. Locations This position will be based out of Metter, Georgia.
