The Tattnall County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for a part-time Code Enforcement position. This position will be part time with no benefits. This position is responsible for enforcing the county's zoning and nuisance ordinances.

The Tattnall County Board of Commissioner’s is seeking applications for a part-time Code Enforcement position. This position willbe part time with no benefits. This position is responsible for enforcing the county's zoning and nuisance ordinances.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Inspects safety procedures and regulations.Inspects compliance with zoning ordinances and land development regulations, lot requirements, and setbacks.Responds to and investigates complaints of zoning code violations and participates in zoning code violation hearings as required.Notifies responsible contractor, subcontractor, or homeowner of zoning code violations and discusses possible options to correctviolations.Conducts follow-up inspections to determine zoning code compliance; prepares non-compliance cases for court.Performs inspections on existing structures for demolition and substandard purposes; gives oral and written reports.Assists in maintaining all zoning regulations.Issues citations for zoning code and ordinance violations.Assists in preparing and sending letters to property owners with overgrown lots, abandoned vehicles, sewer leaks, and abandonedpremises.Performs on-site inspections of properties to determine compliance with various ordinances concerning litter and demolition of unsafebuildings.Inspects existing structures for potential violations of safetyAnswers inquiries and advises the public on the provisions of code related matters; provides assistance to assist in achievingcompliance.Performs other related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:Knowledge of relevant county nuisance and zoning ordinances.Knowledge of construction industry standards.Knowledge of geography of the county, including subdivisions, roads, and street names.Skill in assessing structures for demolition purposes.Skill in planning, organizing, analyzing, decision making, and problem solving.Skill in public relations.Skill in performing mathematical calculations.Skill in reading plats, site plans, and maps.Skill in interpreting and applying zoning regulations.Skill in oral and written communication.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition tobasic skills typically associated with a high school education.Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with thecompletion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipmentoperated.Possession of or ability to readily obtain the appropriate state certification for the type of inspection(s) conducted.Resume or application, and three references.Email: firstname.lastname@example.orgMail: Tattnall County Board of Commissioners, P.O.
