Executive Director

The Vidalia Housing Authority is seeking a strong, effective leader to become the Executive

Director of the agency. The Executive Director serves under the general direction of

the Board of Commissioners and will be responsible for planning, directing and managing

activities and operations of the Vidalia Housing Authority.

The Executive Director will demonstrate considerable knowledge of federal grant applications,

governmental finance, budgeting, and accounting. They will be able to clearly communicate

the agency’s vision and advocate for affordable housing before public officials,

other agencies, and the community at large. Demonstrated proficiency with the principles

of organizational management, personnel, administration and supervision is required, as

is demonstrated knowledge of Fair Housing, real estate, disability, construction, contract

administration, and landlord-tenant laws.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business,

Public Administration or a related field. Extensive, progressively responsible experience

in financial planning, administrative management, public administration, or public

housing work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience to meet the required

knowledge, skills, and abilities.
