Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Housing Authority of the City of Cochran is currently seeking a Full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Complete work orders in a timely manner
Estimate tine and extent of repairs
Perform routine preventive maintenance
Maintain material and supply inventory
Oversee work performed by outside contractors
Groundskeeping: mowing, edging, trimming, hedging grounds
Perform service and upkeep on equipment and work vehicles
Respond promptly to urgent/emergency maintenance issues
Perform building, electrical, painting and plumbing repairs
Cleanup of vacant apartments for releasing
Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License & dependable transportation
Clean criminal record
Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
Electrical and plumbing experience
Ability to handle physical workload
Self-Motivated, deadline and detail-oriented
Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team when needed
Must be able to read/write efficiently
Must possess ability to effectively manage time, materials, inventory and paperwork requirements
Knowledge of simple HVAC and refrigerator maintenance/repair is a plus
Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields is a plus
Ability to work after hours, holidays or weekends as needed (on call every other week for emergency maintenance problems)
