Equipment Operators

ATTNALL COUNTY BOTARD OF COMMISSIONERS ROAD DEPARTMENT FULL TIME - EQUIPMENT OPERATORS 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE MAJOR DUTIES  Operates one or more of the following types of equipment: back hoe, motor grader, bulldozer, dump truck, and frontend loader.  Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure that it is in proper operating condition.  Services and makes minor repairsto equipment.  May perform public works construction, maintenance, and repair duties, including flagging traffic, replacing road signs, installing driveways, mowing rights-of-way, cleaning and maintaining roads, ditches and drains, and pouring, spreading,and leveling.  Performs other related duties as deemed necessary within the department. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION  Knowledge of the hazards of equipment operation.  Knowledge of heavy equipment safety rules and regulations.  Skill in defensive driving techniques.  Skill in operating various heavy and light equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  High School Diploma or Equivalent  Possess or able to possess Class A or B Ga CDL License  Punctual, dependable  Valid state vehicle license required  Able to work in a team and produce quality work under tight deadlines  Strong communication skills  Initiative and strong analytical skills  Diligence, prioritization skill, and time management  Adaptive learner with a positive attitude PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is typically performed while operating light or heavy construction equipment for extended periods of time, with intermittent standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally liftslight and heavy objects, climbs ladders, and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color.
