TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT AND SHOP TECHNICIAN

TATTNALL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ROAD DEPT FULL TIME – TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT AND SHOP TECHNICIAN 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE MAJOR DUTIES  Perform repairs and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment.  Carry tools and equipment to and from storage and work areas  Assist in keeping work area clean  Oil and grease machines  Clean machine with Steam Jenny, solvent, and wiping rags to prepare for repairs KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION  Knowledge of engine operation and mechanics for a variety of vehicles and equipment.  Knowledge of repair principles and procedures for gasoline- and diesel-powered engines.  Skill in diagnosing mechanical problems for a wide variety of vehicles and equipment  Skill in performing preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.  Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in repairing vehicles and small engines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  High School Diploma or Equivalent  Punctual, dependable  Valid state vehicle license required  Able to work in a team and produce quality work under tight deadlines  Strong communication skills  Initiative and strong analytical skills  Diligence, prioritization skill, and time management  Adaptive learner with a positive attitude Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
