JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties

• Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth


• Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software; manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy


• Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle billing procedures including medical collection activities and Medicare processing


• Maintain organized medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations


• Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix)


• Support clinical staff by reviewing care plans, documenting patient interactions, and managing documentation review processes


• Handle front desk responsibilities such as answering phones with excellent phone etiquette, managing appointment reminders, and performing clerical tasks like typing reports using Microsoft Office tools


Qualifications

• Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred


• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth


• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus


• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail


• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices


• Strong organizational skills with experience in filing, documentation review, insurance verification, and office management tasks


• Previous experience with hospital or dental clinic operations is advantageous; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a plus

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
