She needed assistance with job searching and updating her resume. With the help of the Resource Specialist, Whitney applied for a position with Walmart and was selected for their interview and hiring process. Because of the assistance she received through the One-Stop System, Whitney was hired by Walmart and is now successfully employed! Whitney said,” This free service is greatly needed in the county. Caleb Henderson, Youth Program TELFAIR COUNTY Caleb Henderson, Youth Program Caleb Henderson is a 22-year-old from Telfair County. After graduating high school, Caleb was interested in pursuing a career in wildlife or forestry. With the help of WIOA, Caleb was able to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Through the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out of School Youth Program, Caleb received help to cover the expenses of books, supplies, and fees. He also received stipends to assist with transportation. Caleb recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and was hired by the Georgia Forestry Commission as a Forester in Laurens County. Caleb said, “This program has helped me tremendously while attending college, and because of that, I have just graduated and can now begin my career path.” Previous Next < Back FEBRUARY 2025

Kristen McRae, ITA Program WILCOX COUNTY Kristen McRae, ITA Program Kristian McRae, a native of Wilcox County, was attending South Georgia Technical College’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program when enrolled in the WIOA program. She was recently laid off and having problems finding employment. With the lack of income, the financial burden of completing the LPN program was overwhelming. Kristian needed WIOA assistance to help with her tuition, supplies, and the daily transportation stipend to continue attending school. She graduated from the Nursing program in December 2022 and has since passed her NCLEX. Kristian was a great participant, and we are very proud of her accomplishments. Kristian shared her experience by saying, “I am so grateful that I was able to receive WIOA funding. Without WIOA, I am not sure how I would have been able to pay tuition and all the other costs that are associated with the nursing program.” Previous Next < Back JANUARY 2023

Phone Mail Document 1-800-503-0204 info@jobtrainingunlimited.com Apply Now WIOA ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM APPLY FOR WIOA OJT SERVICES NOW On-the-Job Training (OJT) allows our customers to work, earning a full paycheck from their employer while entering the job without all of the specific skills and/or knowledge needed to do the work. WIOA funds reimburse the employers up to 50% for customers’ wages to compensate the employer for the time and extraordinary effort it takes to train the unskilled worker to do the job. After completion of a detailed training plan, if the employee has successfully completed training and learned the skills needed, the employer retains the “OJT” worker and the subsidy ends. This allows the worker to earn a paycheck while learning new skills and provides the employer with an employee trained “their way” while being compensated for the time it takes to train the new employee. The employer is asked to monitor the employee’s progress and complete an evaluation at the end of the training. A Service Specialist is assigned to work with the employer and the customer, and will assist in explaining and completing all the necessary paperwork. The Service Specialist is there to assist both the employer and the OJT customer, should any problems arise. BACK TO SERVICES

Brianna Clifton Hall, Youth Program JOHNSON COUNTY Brianna Clifton Hall, Youth Program Brianna Clifton Hall is a 21-year-old Out of School Youth from Johnson County, Georgia who was enrolled in WIOA in November 2019. She had recently earned her GED and wanted to gain work experience and needed assistance enrolling in college. She decided to attend Southeastern Technical College with the hopes of earning a degree in Business Healthcare Technology. During her time in WIOA, she participated in the Work Experience Program and Occupational Skills Training. While attending college, she received transportation stipends and financial assistance with books and supplies. In May 2024, she graduated with her degree in Business Healthcare Technology. Brianna had this to say about her time in the WIOA Program. “WIOA helped me purchase school materials and to have gas money for transportation to my classes. Amber Yawn, ITA Program TOOMBS COUNTY Amber Yawn, ITA Program Amber Yawn applied for the ITA program after being laid off from her job at Metro Power. She always had an interest in the nursing profession and decided to apply for nursing school in 2019. She enrolled in the LPN Program at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. Once Amber was accepted into the LPN program, she realized she would need financial assistance to help cover the program cost. She immediately applied for the ITA program and was determined eligible as a Dislocated Worker. WIOA was able to assist Amber with tuition and book costs as well as travel. With the help of WIOA, Amber was able to attend full time, and she maintained a GPA above 3.0. Amber graduated with her LPN Diploma in December 2020 and now works full time as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Jeff Davis Hospital in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Amber was a pleasure to work with, and we are so proud of her accomplishments! When asked about the WIOA program, Amber replied: “The WIOA program was truly a blessing for me, and without this program, I would not have been able to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. I not only gained the financial ability to pay for my tuition, books, and supplies, I also gained friendships that will last a lifetime. Ms. Tanisha, my WIOA Case Manager, still reaches out to me to see how I am doing. Kaitlyn Arnold, ITA Program EMANUEL COUNTY Kaitlyn Arnold, ITA Program Kaitlyn Arnold enrolled in the WIOA program in September 2023. She was attending classes full-time at Southeastern Technical College in the Nursing program. She only worked part-time and needed financial assistance to continue attending school. WIOA provided Kaitlyn with transportation stipends and assisted with the cost of books, supplies, testing, uniforms, and graduation fees. She recently graduated and received her RN license. She has now accepted full-time employment as an RN at East Georgia Regional Hospital. Kaitlyn had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. “WIOA was very convenient, and the reimbursements really saved my life through nursing school. Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program TATTNALL COUNTY Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program Mckenzie Davis enrolled in WIOA in May 2023. She was attending Southeastern Technical College and had recently been accepted into the Radiologic Technology program. She needed financial assistance to help with the costs of school. WIOA provided financial support, and Mckenzie recently graduated as Salutatorian with her Associates in Radiologic Technology. She was also awarded the Most Outstanding Student Radiographer for the Radiology Class of 2024. She has accepted full-time employment at Jeff Davis Hospital. Mckenzie had this to say, “The WIOA program has been a tremendous help for me during my time at Southeastern Technical College. They helped cover major school expenses such as tuition, books, scrubs, shoes, and any supplies needed for the program and clinicals. My case managers have been nothing short of amazing. They have always been there for me, supported me, and have always answered any questions I may have regarding the program. Without WIOA, I would not have financially been able to get through school and support my everyday life. The stipend checks helped with my bills, gas, and food through the entire program. Lasondra Wells, ITA Program TOOMBS COUNTY Lasondra Wells, ITA Program Lasondra Wells enrolled in the WIOA ITA program in July 2023. She worked part-time while attending Southeastern Technical College in the Radiologic Technology Program. She needed additional assistance fulfilling the financial burden of attending college. WIOA covered the cost of fees, testing, uniforms, and transportation. Lasondra worked diligently and earned an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology. Lasondra had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. “I decided to pursue my dreams in the medical field as a Radiologic Technologist. Only working part-time, there was a huge decrease in my income. For 16 months, the WIOA program has been a heaven-sent resource for me because it helped pay for many expenses. These expenses included Basic Life Support Certification, supplies for each class, gas to travel to class and clinical sites, scrubs, shoes, uniforms, graduation fees, ARRT testing, etc. I don’t know how I would have made it financially through school without WIOA assistance. Kaleb Turner, Youth Program JEFF DAVIS Kaleb Turner, Youth Program Kaleb Turner is an 18-year-old graduate from Jeff Davis County. He was enrolled in the WIOA Youth Program in February of 2020 as a 10th grade student needing assistance to complete high school to continue to post-secondary education and find employment. Kaleb’s goal was to one day become a Welder, so during his junior year of high school, he dual enrolled at Coastal Pines Technical College in welding. He also participated in the Youth Work Experience Program and was placed to work at South Georgia Machine and Fab. Work experience allowed Kaleb to see firsthand what a career in welding would be like! Kaleb continued to work hard throughout his senior year and graduated in May 2022. Kaleb had this to say about his experience in the WIOA program, “They were very helpful in finding me a job that I liked, and I was great at!”. Congratulations to Kaleb for his achievements!
