In her own words: “I am a 2025 Southeastern Technical College graduate, obtaining an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing.  While attending college, I became an unemployed full-time student; with that came the concern of possibly facing significant financial challenges that could have easily forced me to put my education on hold.  Receiving assistance through WIOA assisted in this life-changing opportunity.

The WIOA program provided critical support that allowed me to focus fully on my studies without the constant stress of how I would afford tuition, books, funds for transportation, uniforms, and other required supplies for the nursing program.  Not only did the program offer financial help, but it also offered hope, stability, and the reassurance that I was not alone during a very demanding season of my life.  After graduating, the program continued to provide aid for licensure and certification costs and follow-up assistance for job placement.  I am now working full-time at Jeff Davis Hospital as an RN.

The support I received has played a vital role in helping me build a foundation for a meaningful career in healthcare, where I will be able to give back to my community.  I am deeply grateful to the WIOA program for investing in my education and my future.  Their support has made a lasting impact on my journey and my ability to pursue a career dedicated to caring for others.”
