Vanessa Parker enrolled in the WIOA Individual Training Account (ITA) Program in March 2025 while pursuing her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) education at Coastal Pines Technical College. Determined to build a rewarding career in healthcare, Vanessa sought financial assistance to help ease the costs associated with completing her education, as well as supportive services to assist with transportation expenses. Through the WIOA Program, Vanessa received valuable support that allowed her to remain focused on achieving her educational and career goals. WIOA provided transportation stipends to assist with travel expenses and covered the costs of tuition, fees, required testing, uniforms, and licensing. Vanessa’s dedication, perseverance, and hard work paid off when she successfully completed the LPN Program with an impressive 3.47 GPA. Shortly after completing her training, Vanessa achieved another important milestone by accepting full-time employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Optim Medical Center.

Vanessa’s journey is a wonderful example of how determination, combined with the right resources and support, can lead to meaningful career success. We are incredibly proud of all that Vanessa has accomplished and are confident that her compassion, skills, and dedication will make her a tremendous asset to the healthcare field. We wish her continued success as she begins this exciting new chapter in her career!

Vanessa had to say this about her time in the WIOA program.  “I attended LPN school at CPTC.  I drained my savings to pay for the first semester and was worried how I was going to pay for the remainder of the program.  I took the time to apply for WIOA and was approved.  My tuition for the remainder of the program was paid for!  Without WIOA’s assistance I would have been burdened with student loans on top of the stress that already accompanies beginning a brand-new job in a brand new field.  I am so thankful for this program.  Because of WIOA I was able to earn my degree, pass my licensing exam, and begin work immediately.”
