Terralyn Brinson, Youth Program

Terralyn Brinson enrolled in the WIOA In-School Youth Program in July 2024 as she prepared to begin her junior year at Swainsboro High School. Her goals were to gain valuable work experience, successfully graduate from high school, and continue her education at the collegiate level.

Throughout her participation in the program, Terralyn completed both Work Experience and Occupational Skills Training. WIOA supported her success by providing transportation stipends while she participated in dual enrollment at Georgia Southern University, as well as covering the costs of her graduation cap and gown and other graduation-related fees.

Terralyn graduated from Swainsboro High School with an impressive 3.75 GPA and earned her high school diploma. She has since been accepted to the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology.Terralyn's dedication, perseverance, and commitment to her goals have led to this outstanding achievement. We congratulate her on her success and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the future.

Terralyn had this to say about her experience with WIOA.  “I joined WIOA during high school. I was unsure about my next steps and needed guidance on finding a career path that would provide long-term opportunities and financial stability. WIOA staff helped me understand the opportunities available and provided support throughout the process.  They assisted me with career planning and gave guidance on the steps needed to continue my education. The staff were always available to answer questions and provided encouragement as I worked toward my goals.  The services I received through WIOA were essential to my success because they helped remove barriers that could have prevented me from pursuing my education.  With their support, I was able to gain experience in the workforce.  The program gave me confidence, direction, and access to opportunities that have helped me build a strong foundation for my future.  I am very grateful for the assistance provided through WIOA.  The support and resources offered make a real difference for students and young adults who are trying to reach their educational and career goals.”
