EVANS COUNTY

Jose Nevarez visited the WIOA Evans County One-Stop seeking assistance with employment after being laid off in July 2025, when his employer closed due to rising costs and inflation. Aside from occasional side jobs, Jose had been unable to secure stable employment that would allow him to become self-sufficient. He holds a valid Georgia CDL license and was eager to use his skills to gain entry with a reputable company.

WIOA staff worked closely with Jose to develop a professional resume and conduct an effective job search. He applied for several positions, remaining hopeful for an opportunity. Pike Electric Inc. soon contacted Jose and invited him to attend an in-person interview with the company’s superintendent. Following the interview, Jose returned to the Evans County One-Stop, where staff assisted him with completing the pre-employment checklist and submitting the required background check online.

Jose was ultimately offered the position and hired as an Apprentice B Lineman with Pike Electric Inc. We are proud of his accomplishment and confident that he will be a valuable asset to the company.
