Cristina Tinoco, ITA Program
Cristina Tinoco entered the WIOA ITA program in September 2024 while enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program at Southeastern Technical College. Unfortunately, she lost her job during her studies and, despite actively seeking new opportunities, was unable to secure employment. She required assistance to overcome financial barriers in order to complete her training and secure employment in a high-demand field. Through the WIOA program, funding was provided to cover the costs of books, supplies, testing fees, certifications, and uniforms. She also received transportation stipends to support her commute to classes and clinical rotations. By alleviating these financial burdens, Cristina was able to fully dedicate herself to her studies.
Cristina recently completed her training with an outstanding 3.90 GPA and earned her Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology. She has accepted full-time employment as a Radiologic Technologist at Candler County Hospital. We are incredibly proud of Cristina and her many accomplishments, and we are confident she will make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the medical profession.
Cristina had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. “I cannot stress enough how much WIOA helped me work toward this accomplishment. The assistance I received took away so much stress along the way. They consistently ensured I had the necessary books and supplies for school, and most importantly, their staff regularly checked in to see how I was doing both academically and personally. They truly care about your success and genuinely want the best for you.”
