    Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program TATTNALL COUNTY Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program Mckenzie Davis enrolled in WIOA in May 2023. She was attending Southeastern Technical College and had recently been accepted into the Radiologic Technology program. She needed financial assistance to help with the costs of school. WIOA provided financial support, and Mckenzie recently graduated as Salutatorian with her Associates in Radiologic Technology. She was also awarded the Most Outstanding Student Radiographer for the Radiology Class of 2024. She has accepted full-time employment at Jeff Davis Hospital. Mckenzie had this to say, “The WIOA program has been a tremendous help for me during my time at Southeastern Technical College. They helped cover major school expenses such as tuition, books, scrubs, shoes, and any supplies needed for the program and clinicals. My case managers have been nothing short of amazing. They have always been there for me, supported me, and have always answered any questions I may have regarding the program. Without WIOA, I would not have financially been able to get through school and support my everyday life. The stipend checks helped with my bills, gas, and food through the entire program.     Lasondra Wells, ITA Program TOOMBS COUNTY Lasondra Wells, ITA Program Lasondra Wells enrolled in the WIOA ITA program in July 2023. She worked part-time while attending Southeastern Technical College in the Radiologic Technology Program. She needed additional assistance fulfilling the financial burden of attending college. WIOA covered the cost of fees, testing, uniforms, and transportation. Lasondra worked diligently and earned an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology. Lasondra had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. “I decided to pursue my dreams in the medical field as a Radiologic Technologist. Only working part-time, there was a huge decrease in my income. For 16 months, the WIOA program has been a heaven-sent resource for me because it helped pay for many expenses. These expenses included Basic Life Support Certification, supplies for each class, gas to travel to class and clinical sites, scrubs, shoes, uniforms, graduation fees, ARRT testing, etc. I don’t know how I would have made it financially through school without WIOA assistance.     Kaleb Turner, Youth Program JEFF DAVIS Kaleb Turner, Youth Program Kaleb Turner is an 18-year-old graduate from Jeff Davis County. He was enrolled in the WIOA Youth Program in February of 2020 as a 10th grade student needing assistance to complete high school to continue to post-secondary education and find employment. Kaleb’s goal was to one day become a Welder, so during his junior year of high school, he dual enrolled at Coastal Pines Technical College in welding. He also participated in the Youth Work Experience Program and was placed to work at South Georgia Machine and Fab. Work experience allowed Kaleb to see firsthand what a career in welding would be like! Kaleb continued to work hard throughout his senior year and graduated in May 2022. Kaleb had this to say about his experience in the WIOA program, “They were very helpful in finding me a job that I liked, and I was great at!”. Congratulations to Kaleb for his achievements!   • DODGE COUNTY, 24, Ryan Chang, ITA Program

    Ryan Chang, ITA Program DODGE COUNTY Ryan Chang, ITA Program Ryan Chang joined the WIOA ITA Program in April 2024. He was in the Aviation Maintenance Airframe and Powerplant Technician program at Middle Georgia State University. He was unemployed and needed assistance covering some of the out-of-pocket fees associated with his program of study. WIOA provided Ryan with transportation stipends for each day of attendance and covered the cost of graduation fees and the extensive testing required. Ryan worked hard and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his entire college career, earning him a spot on the President’s List each semester. He also received a Certificate of Outstanding Academic Excellence and was named the AMT student of the year. Ryan recently graduated and received his Certificate from the Aviation Maintenance Tech program. He then successfully passed all three written exams and all three oral and practical exams required by the FAA to receive his certifications.     Pamela Bradshaw, ITA Program TELFAIR COUNTY Pamela Bradshaw, ITA Program Pamela Bradshaw, a resident of Telfair County, was an employee of Husqvarna when the company closed in 2019. While attending one of the Rapid Response meetings, she learned about the opportunities provided through the WIOA Individual Training Accounts (ITA) program. At that time, Pamela decided to attend Oconee Fall Line Technical College for Business Management. She was enrolled in the WIOA ITA program on December 10, 2019. During her participation in the WIOA program, Pamela received supportive service payments that enabled her to attend training. She successfully completed the program with a 3.90 GPA and earned an Associates Degree in Business Management. After completing training, Pamala has obtained a full-time position with Warner Robins AFB. Pamela had this to say about the WIOA program: “When my employer of almost 30 years closed, I felt as though my world had turned upside down, and I did not know what direction to go. WIOA provided me the opportunity to better myself. I have been able to go back into the workforce with pride and newly acquired skills and knowledge.
