    Dodge CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) Dodge County Hospital Full-Time Eastman, GA, USA JOB DESCRIPTION HOURS: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm and Friday, 8am-12pm MA CERTIFICATION OR LPN REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES: • Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team with positive interpersonal communication skills when communicating with patients, families, and the medical office staff. • Conducts an assessment of patient’s condition and documents findings. • Uses professional judgment in treating patients and modifies the treatment and/or contacts the physician as appropriate. • Reviews with patient relevant health-risks, nutritional issues and corresponding lifestyle changes that are warranted. • Discusses with the patient and family members medications and medical tests and assists with their scheduling. • Schedules consultations and referrals as needed and calls in prescriptions as directed. • Answers patients’ questions and ascertains patients’ needs, acts upon routine requests and relays information. • Notifies patients of test results as directed and any follow-up visits requested by the physician. • Communicates and reinforces patient care plan and education plan with patient and family and assesses the patient or family’s ability to comprehend. • Ensures examination rooms are stocked with supplies and reorders supplies as necessary. • Serves as a clinical leader, implementing nursing concepts, and mentoring other staff as necessary. • Remains current on innovations, developments, new procedures and techniques in nursing care in order to provide quality nursing care services. • Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities and tasks. • Presents a professional image to medical staff, co-workers, physicians, patients and family members. • Attends professional development programs and in-service trainings and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education. • Performs other related job duties as assigned. EDUCATION: • Medical Assistant certification or LPN requirement. • Requires a high school diploma.     Jailee Hanner, Youth Program MONTGOMERY COUNTY Jailee Hanner, Youth Program Jailee Hanner enrolled in the WIOA Youth Program in February 2022 as an 11th grader at Coastal Plains Charter School. She needed assistance with graduating high school and gaining work experience. During her time in the program, she participated in Basic Skills Training and the Youth Work Experience Program. Her goal was to graduate high school and become a professional dancer. Vidalia Ballet was already an established worksite and was more than happy to have Jailee work there. Jailee received her high school diploma in December 2023 and continues to work and volunteer at the same dance studio. Jailee had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. “I am so thankful for the opportunity to be in the WIOA program. I am from a rural underserved area, and this grant allowed me to gain work experience and obtain skills that will assist me in future endeavors that I otherwise would not have been able to do.” We are so proud of Jailee and the accomplishments that she has achieved.     Johnny Collins, Youth Program CANDLER COUNTY Johnny Collins, Youth Program Johnny Collins Jr. is an In School youth from Candler County. Johnny was enrolled in the WIOA Youth program in November 2019. He was in the 11th grade and needed assistance to improve his grades to be on track to graduate and find employment. Johnny worked hard to bring up his grades and was also a member of the Metter High School Basketball team. During his time in the program Johnny completed occupational skills training and participated in the Youth Work Experience Program. While working at the Metter Boys and Girls Club, Johnny had the opportunity to mentor elementary age children and connect with them through his experience as a high school athlete. He was a wonderful asset to their program and his community. At the end of his junior year, the world was turned upside down by the COVID crisis and he had to complete his school year virtually. Johnny worked very hard during this time and passed all his classes. Johnny has since graduated high school and is now employed full-time at Chicken of the Sea. We are very proud of Johnny and his accomplishments. Johnny had this to say about his experience with WIOA. “I have learned how to manage my money in a way that will help me with my future.     Madison Yeomans, ITA Program WAYNE COUNTY Madison Yeomans, ITA Program While working part-time as a CNA, Madison Yeomans was also attending Coastal Pines Technical College’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She found herself in need of additional assistance with the cost of school expenses in order to continue attending college. She applied for WIOA through Job Training Unlimited and was enrolled in April 2023. During her time in the program, WIOA helped cover the cost of tuition, books, supplies, and transportation. Madison worked very hard and completed the LPN program with a 3.17 GPA. She has been such a pleasure to work with, and we can’t wait to see Madison continue to reach her goals. Madison shared her experience by saying, “The WIOA program has been a huge blessing to me during my Practical Nursing journey. It has been a breath of fresh air knowing that I would not have to worry so much about expenses. This program is truly a blessing, and I will 100% recommend it to everyone.     Sierra Connell, Youth Program WHEELER COUNTY Sierra Connell, Youth Program Sierra Connell was enrolled in the WIOA In-School Youth program in September 2024. She wanted to gain work experience and needed assistance to complete school. Sierra knew that after graduation, she wanted to attend college and get an education degree. She participated in the WIOA Youth Work Experience program and was placed at Wheeler County High School as a teacher’s assistant. Sierra also completed Occupational Skills Training. She recently earned her high school diploma and signed with ABAC to pursue a degree in Agricultural Education. We are so proud of Sierra for her accomplishments and know she is going to have such a bright future. Sierra shared this about her experience with WIOA. “I aim to be an Agriculture Teacher in the future, and being in this program allowed me to work alongside and assist teachers at my high school. This allowed me to have a clearer view of my future career path and helped me make a more informed decision when deciding on my major in college. The HGAWDB’s goal will be to provide to the citizens the ability to find in their own county, a comprehensive center or access points. Comprehensive centers will contain all the technology, resources, people, and information necessary for customers to receive services. These locations will also contain employer services and resources. The HGAWDB looks to the future when the centers are “common knowledge” and a “household word”. Our centers will be the “convenience stores” for employment and human service related needs.

Tykeyah enrolled in the WIOA Youth Program after graduating high school because she needed assistance to attend college. With the help of WIOA, Tykeyah was able to enroll in South Georgia Technical College for Early Childhood Education. She is pictured above at Wilcox County Elementary School, where she completed her student teaching hours. Tykeyah earned her Early Childhood Care Education Basics and Child Development Specialist certificates. She is on track to graduate from South Georgia Technical College in March 2022.     Mercedes Brown, ITA Program WAYNE COUNTY Mercedes Brown, ITA Program Mercedes Brown was enrolled in the WIOA program in July 2024. She was attending Coastal Pines Technical College’s LPN program, was unemployed, and needed financial assistance to complete her program of study. WIOA provided Mercedes with transportation stipends, assisted with uniforms and supplies, and paid for testing and fees associated with receiving her LPN license. Mercedes recently graduated and accepted full-time employment with Coastal Manor Nursing Home as an LPN. We are so proud of Mercedes and all her accomplishments. Mercedes had this to say about the WIOA program. “Applying with WIOA was simple, easy, and so worth it. The assistance I received helped tremendously with gas to get back and forth to clinicals and supplies needed to get me through nursing school that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford.
