Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program TATTNALL COUNTY Mckenzie Davis, Youth Program Mckenzie Davis enrolled in WIOA in May 2023. She was attending Southeastern Technical College and had recently been accepted into the Radiologic Technology program. She needed financial assistance to help with the costs of school. WIOA provided financial support, and Mckenzie recently graduated as Salutatorian with her Associates in Radiologic Technology. She was also awarded the Most Outstanding Student Radiographer for the Radiology Class of 2024. She has accepted full-time employment at Jeff Davis Hospital. Mckenzie had this to say, “The WIOA program has been a tremendous help for me during my time at Southeastern Technical College. They helped cover major school expenses such as tuition, books, scrubs, shoes, and any supplies needed for the program and clinicals. My case managers have been nothing short of amazing. They have always been there for me, supported me, and have always answered any questions I may have regarding the program. Without WIOA, I would not have financially been able to get through school and support my everyday life. The stipend checks helped with my bills, gas, and food through the entire program. Madison Yeomans, ITA Program WAYNE COUNTY Madison Yeomans, ITA Program While working part-time as a CNA, Madison Yeomans was also attending Coastal Pines Technical College’s Licensed Practical Nursing Program. She found herself in need of additional assistance with the cost of school expenses in order to continue attending college. She applied for WIOA through Job Training Unlimited and was enrolled in April 2023. During her time in the program, WIOA helped cover the cost of tuition, books, supplies, and transportation. Madison worked very hard and completed the LPN program with a 3.17 GPA. She has been such a pleasure to work with, and we can’t wait to see Madison continue to reach her goals. Madison shared her experience by saying, “The WIOA program has been a huge blessing to me during my Practical Nursing journey. Brianna Snead, ITA Program DODGE COUNTY Brianna Snead, ITA Program Brianna Snead was attending Oconee Fall Line Technical College's Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program when she enrolled in the WIOA program. She is a single mom and was employed part-time as a CNA. With the lack of income, the financial burden of completing the LPN program was overwhelming. Brianna needed WIOA assistance to help with tuition, fees, uniforms, and the daily transportation stipend to continue attending school. Brianna recently completed the LPN program as an Honor Graduate, she passed all her state board exams, and was offered a full-time position at Houston Medical Center as an LPN. We are so proud of Brianna for being persistent and reaching her goals. Brianna shared her experience by saying, "WIOA has been very helpful with everything. Their assistance lightened the load so I could care for my young daughter and still pursue my career. I am so thankful for this program and all they have done for me." Bridgette Graham Edge, ITA Program LAURENS COUNTY Bridgette Graham Edge, ITA Program Bridgette Graham Edge was enrolled in the WIOA ITA Program in February 2021. She was attending Coastal Georgia Technical College pursuing a degree in Nursing. She had recently lost her job and needed financial assistance with the program's costs. WIOA helped cover the expense of tuition, books, supplies, testing fees, and transportation. Bridgette completed the LPN program with a 3.26 GPA and graduated in December 2022. Bridgette had this to say about her time in the WIOA program. "WIOA has helped me so much with the expense of attending school. The stipends for transportation helped out a lot with the cost of traveling back and forth to school and clinicals. I am so thankful for WIOA.
