He wanted to attend the University of Georgia (UGA) to earn a degree in Pharmacy, and he needed financial assistance. During his time in the WIOA Out-of-School Youth Program, Charles completed Occupational Skills Training and participated in the Work Experience program. He was placed at Eastman Drugs for work experience and was able to see what it would be like working in his field of study. Cristina Tinoco, ITA Program TOOMBS COUNTY Cristina Tinoco, ITA Program Cristina Tinoco entered the WIOA ITA program in September 2024 while enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program at Southeastern Technical College. Unfortunately, she lost her job during her studies and, despite actively seeking new opportunities, was unable to secure employment. She required assistance to overcome financial barriers in order to complete her training and secure employment in a high-demand field. Through the WIOA program, funding was provided to cover the costs of books, supplies, testing fees, certifications, and uniforms. She also received transportation stipends to support her commute to classes and clinical rotations. By alleviating these financial burdens, Cristina was able to fully dedicate herself to her studies. Cristina recently completed her training with an outstanding 3.90 GPA and earned her Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology. She has accepted full-time employment as a Radiologic Technologist at Candler County Hospital.
