Enter speech therapy charges daily; and in an accurate manner. Consistently provide the appropriate therapy minutes projected for patients. Effectively communicate when it is not possible due to changes in patient status. Consistent performance of safe techniques, recognition of precautions and contraindications with the ability to modify approaches and accurately monitor patient responses. May supervise speech therapy students. Work with other disciplines to coordinate dysphagia protocols. Maintains and increases professional competency by participating in continued education. Communicate in a competent manner with patients, family members, caregivers and practitioners to provide appropriate instruction and education. Establish augmentative communication when appropriate. Recommend appropriate diagnostic testing when indicated. Screen new admissions, nursing referrals and per the care plan schedule. Refer to other disciplines when indicated. Display exemplary customer service skills. Follow all safety policies to assure resident safety.     Michael Boyd, OJT/COVID Work Experience Program EVANS COUNTY Michael Boyd, OJT/COVID Work Experience Program Michael Boyd moved back to his hometown in Evans County after being laid off due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Michael, at 59 years old, was searching for help to get back on his feet. He reached out to Job Training Unlimited for assistance and was a perfect fit for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act COVID DW Work Experience Program. Michael was placed in employment training as a Sanitation Worker/Street Laborer at the City of Claxton in March 2021 and completed training in June 2021. Because of his hard work and determination, Michael became employed with the City of Claxton shortly after his Work Experience Training ended in June 2021. Michael has been an absolute joy to work with during his time with us. We are so proud of his accomplishments and excited to see what the future holds for him. Michael shares his story: “For someone who has no degree, this program has been very good to me. I love the people that I work with, and everyone has been very supportive in every way. I want to thank everyone who helped me get started with the City of Claxton. I moved back home after being away for approximately 10 years. I needed a job, and Ms. Claire helped me in so many ways. I will always be appreciative of her, Job Training Unlimited, and Harold Rogers at the City of Claxton for giving me a chance and helping me put my life together after coming home. I have been home for 7 months, with Job Training Unlimited for 4 months, and 3 months with the City of Claxton. I have been moved to a full-time position, earned uniforms, given a company telephone, and became part of an incredible team. I am so thankful for this job because I did not have to settle for a job that I didn’t like. It means so much to come to a job every day that I enjoy.     Tamara Burgess, Youth Program TREUTLEN COUNTY Tamara Burgess, Youth Program Tamara Burgess is a 19-year-old graduate from Treutlen County. Tamara enrolled in the WIOA In-School Youth Program in November 2019 as a Junior in high school. She needed assistance to be able to graduate. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tamara’s school transitioned to virtual learning during the final months of her junior year. Like many other students in this situation, Tamara was unable to complete her required credits to be promoted to the 12th grade for the following school year. When the new school year began, Tamara’s WIOA youth case manager and teachers worked with Tamara to develop a plan for her to complete her junior credits and get back on track to graduate. Tamara worked very hard and passed all her classes! She was promoted to the 12th grade and returned to in-person instruction for her senior year. Tamara completed her senior year and graduated high school in May 2022. We are very proud of Tamara for continuing to pursue her educational goals and working hard to overcome the obstacles she faced! He wanted to attend the University of Georgia (UGA) to earn a degree in Pharmacy, and he needed financial assistance. During his time in the WIOA Out-of-School Youth Program, Charles completed Occupational Skills Training and participated in the Work Experience program. He was placed at Eastman Drugs for work experience and was able to see what it would be like working in his field of study. WIOA helped cover the cost of supplies, fees, and provided him with transportation stipends to help with the financial burden of college. He recently graduated from UGA with his Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and has accepted a full-time position as a Pharmacist at Fairview Park Hospital. We are so proud of Charles for his hard work and devotion to his education. Charles had this to say about his time in the WIOA program. “Today I am a licensed pharmacist, and I can say that without WIOA, I am not sure if I would have been able to achieve this lifelong goal.     Tattnall Road Department Road Superintendent City of Reidsville Full-time Reidsville, GA, USA JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Job Responsibilities and Duties Schedules work crews and assign daily duties Assists the Project Consultant in the development of road maintenance projects Respond to complaints from the general public Inspect the departments work in progress Conducts onsite inspections of work in progress Installs culverts, digs and clears ditches, and clears rights of way Oversees the maintenance of County roads Assists with the right of way acquisitions Supervises road maintenance crews and assists in the performance of duties necessary to maintain and repair County roads and ditches Processes paperwork: verifies easements, requests permissions to enter private property; etc Trains personnel in safety and operating procedures Qualifications Our ideal candidate should have the ability to pay attention to details, excellent communication, and a focus on increasing efficiency and accountability It is equally important that they be willing and able to learn new skills and knowledge within the Road Department Skills and Qualification Must have a Class A CDL Ga License Knowledge of public administration Thorough knowledge of proper road construction and maintenance procedures Knowledge of proper ditching and pipe laying procedures Knowledge of local building codes and ordinances and relevant state and federal laws; knowledge of department and safety policies and procedures Skills in reading plats and maps Skills in operating tools and equipment used in ditch and pipe laying work, such as a tractor, motor grader, front end loader, and water truck 5-7 years of experience in road maintenance and repair, heavy equipment operation and maintenance Resume and three references can be mailed to: Tattnall County Background check and pre-employment drug test will be required of the selected candidate *** Background check and pre-employment drug test will be required of the selected candidate.
